Martin Ritter studied Jewish studies and philosophy at the Free University of Berlin. In 1999 he received his MA in philosophy. In 2005 he submitted his dissertation about the Harvard scholar Harry A. Wolfson in Jewish studies. He contributed articles about Jewish topics to the Historische Wörterbuch der Philosophie und the Lexikon der bedeutenden Naturwissenschaftler. He published longer articles about Philo of Alexandria, Hossein Seyyed Nasr, Harry A. Wolfson, and about Jewish philosophy as an invention of nineteenth-century Wissenschaft des Judentums. In the spring he will teach a course on Wissenschaft des Judentums at the Institut für Judaistik, FU-Berlin.
