Mordecai Roshwald is professor emeritus of humanities at the University of Minnesota. He has also held visiting professorships at universities in Israel, England, Canada, and Taiwan. His works include most recently The Transient and the Absolute: An Interpretation of the Human Condition and of Human Endeavor (Westport, Conn.: Greenwood Press, 1999), Liberty: Its Meaning and Scope (Westport, Conn.: Greenwood Presss, 2000), and The Half-Truths by Which We Live (Frederick, Md.: PublishAmerica, 2006). He is also well known for his novel Level Seven (London: Heinemann, 1959) which was translated into fourteen languages and adapted for television by the BBC.
